This stunning kanjivaram sari in cardamom green shot with golden olive is handwoven with vaira oosi stripes, all over the body, along with dramatically large stylised leaf, mayil(peacock) and floral motifs, in gold zari, placed above the pallu. The borders have vanki(chevron), thuthiripoo and geometric patterns in gold zari, along with hints of apricot orange. The pallu features a seeprekku band edged by maan(deer), horse(kuthirai), manga(paisley), floral, vanki and geometric motifs in gold zari, along with hints of apricot orange, woven using the 'adai' technique.

The sari is handworked with kasuti motifs in burgundy and dark green, across the body.

Approximate Length - 5.4 meters + 0.65 to 0.7 meters (attached blouse)
Height - 1.12 - 1.17 meters.

AT-HOME CARE TIPS FOR YOUR KANJIVARAMS

Here are a few tips that can help keep your kanjivaram silk products well cared for -

If you store your saris folded, please ensure you open them and change the fold every so often. Fold lines can "settle" if not refolded, creating fade marks and weakening the weave and brocade patterns along the fold line stress points.
If stored folded, be sure to store the saris in a muslin/cotton bag to preserve them better.
Air them out of the bags and refold every so often.
It is best to store heavier kanjivaram saris, especially brocaded (zari embellished) ones, on a sari roll. However, these too will need airing out and re-rolling at intervals
If you store your saris hung, you will still need to air them and refold to reset the fold lines. Hanging your heavier kanjivaram saris, however, is not recommended for extended periods.
Use insect repellants and anti moisture devices in your closed wardrobes to protect the saris.
Give your saris to silk specialist cleaners if you need to get them cleaned, Remember, not all stains are easily removed (or removable at all) once "set in" a fabric - the best time to tackle a stain is as soon as its occurred.
