Kanakavalli Silk/Cotton Sari 23-598-HS005-00155

This classic silk cotton sari in black silk and cotton is handwoven with stripes in off-white and scarlet red silk, forming a checkered pattern, on the body. The broad border has chevron and geometric patterns in mustard orange, scarlet red and leaf green cotton; while the narrow border has diamond and geometric patterns in leaf green cotton. The pallu features a seeprekku band, diamond and chevron patterns and alternating stripes in scarlet red and leaf green silk.

Woven with silk and cotton in the warp, and silk in the weft, these exclusively developed handlooms, with their higher silk content, impart these saris with a soft lustre and bodied drape.
