Kanakavalli Kanjivaram Silk Sari 23-040-HS001-09338
This unique kanjivaram sari in mayil kazhuthu(a shot colour featuring royal blue and dark sea green) is handwoven with checks in gold tissue, enclosing circular motifs in gold zari, along with dramatically large manga(paisley) and floral motifs in gold zari, placed on either corner of the body. The korvai borders follow a ganga jamuna layout, where one side is in a dual shade of golden yellow, and the other side is in a dual shade of ruby red; both have vanki(chevron), salangai(anklet) and thuthiripoo patterns in gold zari, along with contrasting moplah bands and hints in red, golden yellow and cardamom green. The pallu is interlocked using the 'petni' technique in leaf green shot with black, and features a diamond band flanked by kuthirai(horse), maan(deer), manga, floral and geometric motifs in gold zari, woven using the 'adai' technique.
