Kanakavalli Bride : Vertika

Vertika weds Pranay
The first time Kanakavalli Bride Vertika met Pranay, many years ago, she felt a deep sense of ease – as though she’d known him in some other time or place. Vertika says Pranay didn’t try to impress her, but left an impression on her. Their effortless conversations gradually unfolded into a deep and quiet love. Early on, the couple knew they were meant to build something lasting together, so their decision to marry was the result of a journey rather than a single cinematic moment. Vertika and Pranay had a conversation filled with shared laughter, clarity and dreams, something that felt very true to them.

The couple had two weddings – a North Indian ceremony at the sacred Triyunginarayan Temple in Uttarakhand, and a South Indian wedding following Telugu rituals. The décor mirrored the spiritual energy of the ceremonies; simple and rooted in tradition, with floral accents and hints of temple elegance. What made the wedding truly special, says Vertika, was that it was a celebration of unity not just between two people, but between two families and two rich cultures.

The moment she approached the mandapam and saw Pranay, who was calm, composed and smiling, is a moment that Vertika will never forget. As a North Indian bride, partaking in South Indian traditions was truly special for her; every mantra and ritual felt sacred and new, leaving her awestruck.

“Let go of perfection and focus on intention,” is Vertika’s advice for brides-to-be planning their weddings. It’s easy to get lost in checklists, she says, but the moments that will stay forever are those in which you are wholly present with your partner, parents and friends.

Despite having known each other for eight years, married life has brought more joy to Vertika and Pranay as they laugh and cook together, learning to hold space for one another. “It’s ordinary in the most beautiful way,” says Vertika.

Vertika says she has always admired Kanakavalli for the way it celebrates heritage weaves with such grace. For her bridal trousseau, she wanted something timeless and rooted in tradition, yet reflective of her personal style. For her, Kanakavalli felt like the perfect blend of culture and elegance. The team at the store gave her the time and peace she needed to buy the most important sari of her life. Vertika says the setting felt just right for this momentous occasion.

A big thank you to Vertika for being a beautiful Kanakavalli Bride and sharing the story of her wedding with us. We wish her and Pranay a lifetime of love and laughter.
