Kanakavalli Bride : Suganthini
Suganthini weds Mohan
Kanakavalli Bride Suganthini and Mohan were friends first, before they fell in love. Mohan, who had moved to Ireland, surprised Suganthini in Chennai, and they confessed their feelings for one another. A year later, Suganthini moved to Ireland and they have been together ever since.
Suganthini is not a fan of traditional proposals. She and Mohan had talked about marriage, and knew that they'd get married when they were ready. Eventually, when the time felt right, they decided to get a cat together to make it official instead of a ring!
Suganthini is from Tamil Nadu while her husband is from Kerala so they had a vibrant wedding combining their cultures, with a morning poolside engagement, a traditional wedding ceremony and a backyard-themed reception.
After multiple calls with their planners and several presentation decks, they decided on themes and decors for each event.
For the ceremony, they used the colour of Suganthini's kanjivaram sari to pick the backdrop in dusty rose and gold with fresh pastel flowers.
Getting her make-up done in her room with her friends was one of the most memorable parts of the day for Suganthini. At the end of the ceremony, they had a ritual involving fun traditional games, and she says that was another highlight.
Suganthini wanted her wedding sari to be classic and one-of-a-kind. Since she was shopping online, it was also important for her that the store have a good website and she loved Kanakavalli's.
When it was time to buy her wedding sari, Suganthini reached out to the customer care team to find a sari that she had seen even before she had started shopping for her trousseau. In that sense, she actually bought the first sari she saw!
A big thank you to Suganthini for being a beautiful Kanakavalli Bride and sharing the story of her wedding with us. We wish her and Mohan a lifetime of love and laughter.
