Kanakavalli Bride : Sri Mahalakshmi

Sri Mahalakshmi weds Sanjeev
Kanakavalli Bride Sri Mahalakshmi first met Sanjeev at a coffee shop – and says she now truly believes in love at first sight. Though they had been introduced by their parents, the connection between them was instant. Sri Mahalakshmi was immediately struck by his deep brown eyes, and despite it being a marriage arranged by their families, she was the first to say that she wanted to marry him.

The couple marked their union with a classic South Indian celebration. For the urthi varthai, or engagement ceremony, they chose something simple and intimate at a resort in Coimbatore, set against a lush green backdrop. The wedding itself was more traditional, adorned with fresh flowers in shades of orange, pink and white to complement the bride’s ensemble. It was a day filled with ritual, warmth and joy.

The moment that has stayed with Sri Mahalakshmi most vividly from their wedding day is seeing Sanjeev waiting for her on the manavarai as she walked down the aisle with her family. Life after the wedding, she says, has been a joy. Having moved in with her husband and his parents, she shares that it already feels like home, and that she finds herself falling in love with Sanjeev more with each passing day.

Her advice to brides-to-be is simple: don’t follow trends, but style yourself in a way that makes you feel comfortable and confident. And, she adds, make sure to spend as much time as possible with your partner on your big day – it’s those shared moments that become the most cherished memories.

When it came to shopping for her wedding sari, Sri Mahalakshmi recalls visiting almost every store in Coimbatore, unable to find the exact shade of orange she had imagined. Finally, that evening, they stepped into Kanakavalli – and she knew she had found the one. She and her family were drawn to the quality of the silk and the brand’s simple yet elegant designs.

Not only did Mahalakshmi find a kanjivaram in the perfect shade of orange, she also chose a pink sari for her engagement ceremony. She says the warmth of the customer service and the overall experience at Kanakavalli made shopping for her big day truly special.

A big thank you to Sri Mahalakshmi for being a beautiful Kanakavalli Bride and sharing the story of her wedding with us. We wish her and Sanjeev a lifetime of love and laughter.
