Kanakavalli Bride : Vinusha

Vinusha weds Shathiysh

Kanakavalli Bride Vinusha first met Shathiysh at university through mutual friends. They became project groupmates for a finance module and began as friends before their relationship grew into something more. A few years into dating, the couple planned a trip to Phuket where, unbeknownst to Vinusha, Shathiysh was planning to propose. Unfortunately, they both came down with COVID just before the holiday and had to postpone the trip by a few weeks. As a result, Vinusha discovered his plan to surprise her, but Shathiysh still managed to pull off a beautiful proposal, keeping the actual day a secret right until he popped the question!

For Vinusha, the best part of wedding planning was the shopping – she loved seeing how everything she and Shathiysh had envisioned came together. They had a civil wedding followed by a reception lunch at the end of January, and the following week hosted a ceremony and dinner. They didn’t have a specific theme for their décor, but Vinusha and Shathiysh blended elements from both their styles so the celebrations felt personal and truly reflective of them as a couple.

Vinusha will never forget seeing the faces of their closest family and friends as Shathiysh tied the thali. Being surrounded by everyone they loved in that moment made it incredibly meaningful and emotional. Vinusha says that after being together for seven years, married life feels like an extension of their relationship and their weekends together – except now it’s forever! They are enjoying navigating life together and learning as they go.

Having heard about Kanakavalli from a friend a few years ago, Vinusha would browse through our online catalogue from time to time. When she visited Chennai with her family to shop for her wedding trousseau, Kanakavalli was their very first stop. She found her bridal kanjivaram on day one but didn’t buy it immediately, as her family wanted her to explore other options before deciding. Eventually, she returned to claim the sari she truly loved!

Vinusha says she loved the calm ambience, the range of kanjivarams to choose from, and the patience of the team who showed her various options. For her – a cat lover – the cherry on top was seeing a cat stroll by just as she said yes to her sari, a moment that convinced her she had made the right choice.

A big thank you to Vinusha for being a beautiful Kanakavalli Bride and sharing the story of her wedding with us. We wish her and Shathiysh a lifetime of love and laughter.
