Shradha weds Gautam
Kanakavalli Bride Shradha says she doesn't believe in love at first sight, because it takes time to get to know and understand a person.
When she and Gautam decided to get married, there was no need for a proposal; they both just knew that it was the right thing and the right time. Since they had always bonded over food, the couple had a private and intimate dinner at which he gave her a beautiful ring.
As a fashion designer, Shradha loves all things creative, and she thoroughly enjoyed planning the wedding, from visiting venues and planning layouts to meeting vendors and thinking about menus. She also knew exactly what she wanted to look like as a bride, and the exact shade of red that she wanted to wear.
Shradha says she loved every minute of their two-day wedding, but she particularly enjoyed the Ganga Pooja ceremony.
The entire wedding was a one-of-a-kind experience for their friends who aren't from Coorg, and she and her family enjoyed teaching them the Kodava aat or traditional dance.
Married life with Gautam so far is bliss, says Shradha. She loves the process of growing together, as individuals and a couple.
Shradha sees saris almost every day in her work as a designer, and she knew she wanted something different. When she first visited Kanakavalli, she says she saw a difference in the fall and lustre of the silks.
Coorg brides always create a trousseau of beautiful saris, and Shradha says that the team at Kanakavalli's Bengaluru store helped her do just that. They brought in kanjivarams from Chennai and Hyderabad, offering her many choices and accommodating all her requests. Most of all, though, Shradha says she loved the warmth of the space and enjoyed every visit to the store.
