Satve weds Jay
Kanakavalli Bride Satve believes that true love takes time. She and Jay, who were introduced by their parents, took their time getting to know each other and built their love knowing who they really were. She says they had wonderful conversations without any awkward moments, and he gave her a feeling of warmth and safety.
Satve’s friends and families joke that she has been planning her wedding day for so long that she had everything ready and only needed to ‘insert the right guy into this plan’!
Satve was in California while planning the wedding, but her cousins in Coimbatore helped her and she already knew exactly which vendors she wanted to work with.
She loved every minute of planning, including customising a head-piece that she can pass down to the next generation of her family.
One of the most unforgettable moments of the wedding was the traditional Nagavalli Seer game that the bride and groom play after the ceremony. Jay and Satve are very competitive, and they put on a show for their families, with everyone joining in the laughter.
Married life has been exciting, Satve says. She is more outgoing and loves to be out at parties, while Jay is more introverted. She says they balance each other’s personalities, inspiring one another to try new things.
While browsing the Kanakavalli website seven months before the wedding, Satve stumbled upon a bright red kanjivaram – just the colour she was looking for – embellished with peacocks and elephants, and she fell in love.
The team sent her videos and pictures and showed her the sari on a Whatsapp call for her to see it in different light. Satve and her family were so happy with the customer care that they bought Jay’s anga vastra set from Kanakavalli too.
