Kanakavalli Bride : Krithika

Krithika weds Arjun
Kanakavalli Bride Krithika believes that a real connection between two people comes from getting to know each other and discovering a special bond. She had just flown down from the US to attend a wedding, when her father asked her to meet a prospective husband. She didn’t feel prepared for marriage and was unsure about meeting him. But as she and Arjun sat down to talk, something clicked.

Her nervousness quickly disappeared and was replaced by something else. He made her feel comfortable almost instantly, and over the course of a long conversation, they realised how much they had in common. At the end of that first meeting, Krithika wanted to meet Arjun again, and again. Fortunately, he felt the same way. That’s how their journey began – not with an instant spark, but through a deep, growing connection. When they met for dinner a short while later, Arjun told Krithika that he wanted to explore where their connection would take them, and the rest, as they say, is history.

The couple had a traditional South Indian wedding, with a muhurtham, varapooja, haldi and deepa aarti ceremonies. The wedding decor was a celebration of tradition, in beautiful shades of white, cream and gold, with fresh flowers adding bursts of colour.

Krithika and Arjun felt as though they were honouring their culture and traditions as they celebrated their union.

For Krithika, the muhurtham was truly unforgettable. As the child of a single parent, she was filled with emotions. In that moment, she had a strong feeling that she was marrying the right person. She knew that Arjun was a pure and genuine soul; someone who would care for her and love her just as her family did. This is a feeling she will never forget.

Since getting married, Krithika has enjoyed having someone to come home to and spend time with after a busy day at work. Her advice for a bride planning a wedding is to invest in a kanjivaram of excellent quality so it can be passed down from generation to generation, woven with memories.

Having been a Kanakavalli customer for almost eight years, Krithika knew she wanted to wear Kanakavalli for her big day. Her father has always been interested in kanjivarams, and would often buy her mother Kanakavalli saris – saris that Krithika will now inherit. She loves the lightweight yet rich feeling of wearing a Kanakavalli kanjivaram, and had always dreamed of being a Kanakavalli Bride. Krithika says that choosing your wedding kanjivaram can feel very overwhelming. Luckily for her, the Kanakavalli team was there to support her all along the journey, helping her pick the perfect colour and pattern to mark the most special day of her life.

A big thank you to Krithika for being a beautiful Kanakavalli Bride and sharing the story of her wedding with us. We wish her and Arjun a lifetime of love and laughter.
