Harika weds Sean

Kanakavalli Bride Harika has always believed in the magic of first impressions. With Sean, it was exactly that, along with many meaningful conversations over time, which brought their connection to life. Despite living in different cities at the time, he travelled to meet her, and one of their first outings was to a Yankees game. Their mutual love for discovering new experiences and finding common ground quickly brought them closer.

The proposal was simple yet deeply heartfelt — on a misty morning in Coorg, a moment that felt like it belonged entirely to them.

Harika cherished every moment of wedding planning – it was such a joy for her to tap into her creative side throughout the process. The couple had a beautiful Kodava wedding nestled among the lush coffee estates of Coorg. The festivities began with the Oorkuduva ceremony that brought together the ooru (community) to celebrate. The next day was the muhurtham ceremony, where the couple exchanged vows and stepped into a new chapter of their lives. Later that evening there was a traditional Ganga Puja ritual in which Harika was welcomed by Sean’s family.

They had a traditional mandap adorned with fresh jasmine flowers; the fragrance and classic charm beautifully complementing their wedding attire.
It meant the world to Harika and Sean to have their friends and family there, some of whom had travelled from far and wide to be a part of their special day. 

Married life has been an adventure so far, says Harika. The two of them are navigating life hand-in-hand, dreaming together, supporting one another and cheering each other on at every step of the way.

Harika came across Kanakavalli while scrolling through Instagram in search of the perfect bridal sari, and it was love at first sight. She was struck by the colour palette, the intricate craftsmanship and timeless elegance of the kanjivarams. According to Harika, what sealed the deal, though, was the exceptional customer service. While she couldn’t travel to the store to shop in person, Harika says the Kanakavalli team made the experience feel seamless – answering all her questions over Whatsapp, sending detailed videos of the bridal kanjivarams and caring that she found “the one”. For her, the best part of the experience was the personalised attention and support she received. “It truly felt like I had a personal guide assisting me in finding the perfect sari, even from afar!” says Harika.
