Kanakavalli Bride : Ishita

Ishita, who was born in in Ayodhya and brought up all over the country, didn’t think she had much in common with Hyderabad-born and raised Vishwanath, a Biriyani addict and Telugu speaker!

They enjoyed a jovial friendship as colleagues, but when they ended up at the same super-specialty training in Chennai, almost five years later, they realised they had similar interests and goals. Despite their different origins, they took the hint from the universe, and got together.

For Ishita, the best part of planning the wedding was the fact that she played only a minimal role in it! With her demanding role as a doctor-in-training, Ishita was happy to hand over planning to her mother, who single-handedly managed everything – and did so beautifully!

The couple had a Telugu-style muhurtham, followed by pheres in the tradition of Ishita’s family, with its roots in Uttar Pradesh. The morning muhurtham, under the bright springtime sun, had minimal décor, with fragrant jasmine flowers and banana leaves.

While the actual wedding went by in a blur, Ishita says she’ll never forgot having breakfast with her entire family the next morning. It was the first time that she and Vishwanath came together as a married couple, and it was a truly special moment.

A visit to Kanakavalli over five years ago with a friend left a lasting impression on Ishita, so our Kingsley store was her first destination when she started shopping for the wedding.

She says the serene ambience was a relief for an impatient bride like her, and the team was patient and paid so much attention to detail. She loved the little bridal adornments that she received along with her wedding kanjivaram, and appreciated how the brand understands the emotions and importance of picking a bridal sari.
