Kanakavalli Kanjivaram Silk Sari 21-110-HS001-07016

This sari is from Kanakavalli’s Reiya collective that have undergone a series of hand processes to soften and age the drape. It is marked by age-muted zari, and a sumptuous bodied but butter-soft hand feel.

This stunning kanjivaram sari in black is handwoven with checks enclosing mayil(peacock), manga(paisley) and chakaram motifs in gold zari, all over the body. The broad border has twill and geometric motifs in gold zari; while the narrow border has twill patterns in gold zari. The pallu features a large diamond pattern edged by yaanai(elephant), kuthirai(horse), mayil(peacock), mythical bird, radham(chariot), floral and geometric motifs in gold zari.
