Kanakavalli Kanjivaram Silk Sari 20-110-HS001-01774
This sari is from Kanakavalli's Reiya collective of kanjivarams that have undergone a series of hand processes to soften and age the drape. It is marked by age-muted zari and a sumptuous bodied but butter-soft hand feel.
This stunning kanjivaram sari in a dual shade of indigo blue is handwoven with checks enclosing mayil(peacock) and floral motifs in gold zari, all over the body. The korvai borders are in midnight blue shot with black, the broad border has diamond, iruthalai pakshi, mayil, manga(paisley), floral and geometric patterns in gold zari; while the narrow border has diamond, manga and geometric patterns in gold zari. The pallu in the same colours as the borders features a vanki(chevron) band edged by annam, yali, manga, floral, thazhampoo reku(temple), rudraksham, twill, geometric and stylised leaf motifs in gold zari.
