Monika weds Kedar

Kanakavalli Bride Monika never believed in love at first sight, but the moment she met Kedar for the first time, she says something just felt different. She was struck by how warm, genuine and easy to talk to Kedar was. There was an instant sense of comfort between them. When Kedar decided to propose to Monika, he planned a quiet evening surrounded by her favourite flowers. She says it was simple, sincere and absolutely perfect – and she wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Monika says she genuinely loved the entire journey of planning their wedding, especially choosing the décor and bringing their vision to life. She and Kedar wanted their big day to feel warm and intimate, with rich florals, soft lighting and a colour palette that felt timeless. Each ceremony had its own personality, from the joyful, colourful energy of the mehendi to the serene, emotional beauty of the wedding rituals. The couple had a wonderful few days of celebration with everyone they love.

For Monika, there is one moment that stands out; one that she will never forget. It was the moment that the addutera (the Telugu word for the cloth held between the bride and groom) was removed, and she saw Kedar’s face light up with joy.

Long before her wedding, Monika had discovered Kanakavalli and admired the kanjivarams. When it came to choosing her bridal sari, she wanted something that felt deeply rooted in tradition, timeless and elegant. For her, she says Kanakavalli was a natural choice.
