Kanakavalli Bride Kriti and Mukund matched on a dating app and their first date defied all their expectations of a first encounter. Their conversation flowed effortlessly and the intensity of their connection was undeniable, so they quickly scheduled a second date within days! That initial momentum carried them forward and, within a month, they both knew they had something special – the trajectory of their relationship was swift and clear. 
From the moment they met, Kriti and Mukund had a shared vision of marriage as their ultimate destination. Shortly after celebrating their first year together, Mukund planned a romantic proposal on the scenic cliffs of Newport Beach. He crafted a beautiful photographic display tracing their journey as a couple, and the surprise appearance of their families made the moment even more magical for Kriti.

Personalising every aspect of the wedding was Kriti’s favourite aspect of planning her big day. She and Mukund wanted to create a celebration that reflected their South Indian roots while also feeling modern and unique. Walking down the aisle with her brothers is a moment Kriti will never forget.

Another highlight from their wedding was the garland exchange ceremony, a Tamil tradition in which the bride and groom are lifted up by the uncles as they exchange garlands multiple times. Kriti thoroughly enjoyed being up in the air, watching everyone’s joyful reactions to the ceremony. She says it was such a fun and unique experience, the best way to start their wedding.

The couple has settled into a comfortable rhythm as they build their life together, day by day. Kriti says there is a sense of joy in sharing even the simplest moments, and they’re excited about all the adventures yet to come.

Kriti says she chose Kanakavalli because of the brand’s unique and one-of-a-kind handloom saris. She has always dreamt of wearing a traditional red kanjivaram on her wedding day and found many stunning options at Kanakavalli. She was captivated by the perfect shade of red that she finally chose, with the exquisite balance of embellishments on the sari’s borders – the perfect blend of tradition and individuality.

While Kriti wasn’t able to shop at Kanakavalli in person, her mother – who has impeccable taste – visited the store with her aunt and uncle. Her family raved about the Kanakavalli team’s patience and attention to detail, and this gave Kriti complete peace of mind.
