This classic silk cotton sari in leaf green silk and cotton is handwoven with fine stripes in black silk, highlighted by floral buttis in ivory and scarlet red cotton, on the body. The borders in leaf green silk shot with pale yellow cotton have chevron, twill, geometric patterns, along with bands and hints in leaf green, scarlet red and pale beige cotton. The pallu mirrors the patterns of the borders and also features a seeprekku band, deer, peacock, paisley, floral, twill and geometric motifs in ivory and scarlet red cotton.

Woven with silk and cotton in the warp, and silk in the weft, these exclusively developed handlooms, with their higher silk content, impart these saris with a soft luster and bodied drape.

AT-HOME CARE TIPS FOR YOUR KANJIVARAMS

Here are a few tips that can help keep your kanjivaram silk products well cared for -

If you store your saris folded, please ensure you open them and change the fold every so often. Fold lines can "settle" if not refolded, creating fade marks and weakening the weave and brocade patterns along the fold line stress points.
If stored folded, be sure to store the saris in a muslin/cotton bag to preserve them better.
Air them out of the bags and refold every so often.
It is best to store heavier kanjivaram saris, especially brocaded (zari embellished) ones, on a sari roll. However, these too will need airing out and re-rolling at intervals
If you store your saris hung, you will still need to air them and refold to reset the fold lines. Hanging your heavier kanjivaram saris, however, is not recommended for extended periods.
Use insect repellants and anti moisture devices in your closed wardrobes to protect the saris.
Give your saris to silk specialist cleaners if you need to get them cleaned, Remember, not all stains are easily removed (or removable at all) once "set in" a fabric - the best time to tackle a stain is as soon as its occurred.
