This classic kanjivaram sari in black shot with deep purple is handwoven with stripes in a dual shade of orange, forming a checkered pattern on the body, along with mayil(peacock) and floral motifs in gold zari, placed above the borders. The borders in burnt orange shot with black have fine stripes in gold zari, along with a selvedge in green. The pallu in the same colours as the borders features bands, stripes and floral motifs in gold zari.
