Kanakavalli Kanjivaram Silk Sari 19-021-HS001-00141
This sari is from Kanakavalli's Reiya collective of kanjivarams that have undergone a series of hand processes to soften and age the drape. It is marked by age-muted zari, and a sumptuous bodied but butter soft hand feel.
This beautiful kanjivaram sari in a dual shade of crimson red is handwoven with checks enclosing mayil(peacock) and floral motifs in self, all over the body. The borders have checks enclosing iruthalai pakshi and yali patterns in gold zari. The pallu features a twill band flanked by iruthalai pakshi, yali, manga(paisley), floral, rudraksham, geometric and stylised leaf motifs in gold zari.
The sari is handworked with kasuti motifs in beige across the body.
Approximate Length - 5.35 meters + 0.65 to 0.7 meters (attached blouse)
Height - 1.12 - 1.17 meters.
Approximate weight - 710 grams.
