Motifs and patterns inspired by the craft are taken out of their familiar context within the sari weave and recreated as striking discharge block prints, delicately hand embroidered to emphasise their contrast and detail. The kanjivarams here feature checks and stripes, or classic borders with zari ornamentation, and the block prints are thoughtfully placed to highlight their inherent drama.
