Kanakavalli Bride : Nanda

Nanda weds Rajath

Kanakavalli Bride Nanda was introduced to Rajath through a friend, and they first met at a café in 2023. They spent a month just hanging out and getting to know each other, and their connection grew slowly and naturally. At the end of that month, Rajath asked Nanda out and that’s how it all began. Nanda and Rajath’s story didn’t include a big, dramatic proposal. When her family felt it was time for her to think about marriage, she told them about Rajath, and everything fell into place. Both families came together and the couple got engaged in January 2025.

Nanda loved the process of shaping the wedding into something simple yet beautiful. On the first day of celebrations, they had a quiet, traditional temple ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends, all dressed in the classic kasavu handlooms of Kerala in shades of cream and gold. The wedding rituals continued on the second day, with rich kanjivaram and mundu textiles creating a beautiful contrast. They chose soft candlelit décor with traditional touches to create a space that felt warm, festive and authentic.

Nanda loved seeing everything come together exactly the way they had imagined it.
For Nanda and Rajath, the best part of the wedding was having all the people who matter most to them in one place. It felt incredibly special to see both their worlds blend so beautifully, and that sense of togetherness is something they will always cherish.

Married life, says Nanda, has been calm, comforting and surprisingly effortless. She and Rajath have settled into a rhythm that feels natural – full of small routines, shared laughter and the comfort of knowing they’re building a life together.

Right from the start, Nanda knew she didn’t want to wear a sari in the traditional Kerala colours. She’d always dreamt of getting one of her wedding saris from Kanakavalli, which was high on her list. After visiting five different shops, she finally found the exact shade she’d been searching for at Kanakavalli. Nanda says the team at Kingsley was warm and attentive, making the entire experience feel personal and stress-free. The most memorable part for her, was how her bridal sari was handed over to her – a gesture filled with tradition and careful thought. She also says the coffee and cookies at Kingsley deserve a special shout out of their own!

A big thank you to Nanda for being a beautiful Kanakavalli Bride and sharing the story of her wedding with us. We wish her and Rajath a lifetime of love and laughter.
