Kanakavalli Kanjivaram Silk Sari 22-599-HS001-12302

This sari is from Kanakavalli's Reiya collective of kanjivarams that have undergone a series of hand processes to soften and age the drape. It is marked by age-muted zari and a sumptuous bodied but butter-soft hand feel.

This regal kanjivaram sari in purple shot with black is handwoven with checks enclosing mayil(peacock) and chakaram motifs in gold zari, all over the body. The borders have twill, yali, mayil, manga(paisley), rudraksham and geometric patterns in gold zari, along with a selvedge in bottle green. The pallu in deep magenta shot with black features a stylised leaf band flanked by mayil, manga, floral, diamond, rudraksham and geometric motifs in gold zari.
