Kanakavalli Kanjivaram Silk Sari 19-040-HS001-00296

This sari is from Kanakavalli’s recently launched Reiya collective of kanjivarams that have undergone a series of hand processes to soften and age the drape. It is marked by age-muted zari and a sumptuous-bodied but butter-soft hand feel.

This beautiful kanjivaram sari in a dual shade of dark green is handwoven with checks enclosing yali, yaanai(elephant), mayil(peacock) and chakaram motifs in gold zari, dotted on the body. The borders have diamonds, thuthiripoo, geometric and salangai(anklet) patterns in gold zari. The pallu features a diamond band flanked by mann kuthirai(terracotta horse), yali, vanki (chevron), floral, geometric, and salangai motifs in gold zari.
