Subi weds Vivek
Kanakavalli Bride Subi first met Vivek at a friend’s birthday party, but at the time they had no idea what was in store for them. They met again at a university ball, where they started talking, and before they knew it, they were dating.
Vivek booked Subi’s favourite bookstore after hours and as they walked in, her favourite music was playing. The store was lit with fairy lights and candles and there was a table filled with photos of the two of them. Funnily enough, Subi was planning to propose to him just a few weeks later, and had booked the same bookstore for the big moment!
The wedding consisted of a backyard mehendi followed by a traditional South Indian wedding, followed by an evening reception.
The décor for the entire wedding was all about keeping it simple, but classy.
Subi’s favourite moment from the ceremony, after seeing Vivek for the first time that morning, was the ‘maalai maatral’ ritual. Being lifted up by her favourite uncles for the fun competition with her groom was so much fun, she says.
Subi says that having been best friends first, living with Vivek is easy, comfortable and, most of all, fun.
One of Subi’s aunts has been a fan of Kanakavalli for years and she recommended it. Subi and her mum immediately fell in love with the unique kanjivarams, and she says they had a great online shopping experience thanks to the patience of the team.
