Kanakavalli Bride : Ganga

Right from the first moment they met, Ganga says it felt like they had known each other forever. Conversation flowed so easily and they ended up chatting for four hours straight!

She discovered that they shared the same values, beliefs and roots, as well as interests in travelling, reading and exploring different cultures. They hit it off instantly and the rest is history.

Fortunately for Ganga, her sister had gotten married just four months before her own wedding, so the family knew exactly how to navigate the nitty gritty of a big event! It made planning so much easier, allowing them to slow down and enjoy the journey.

The couple had a mehendi, haldi and wedding ceremony in the Smartha Brahmin tradition, as well as a sangeeth for their family and friends. 

They chose to have a mandap decorated in classic shades of red and gold to match Ganga’s kanjivaram on the special day.

Ever since she first heard of Kanakavalli and fell in love with the kanjivarams on the website, Ganga knew she would be a Kanakavalli Bride.

The family visited the Bengaluru store while shopping for her sister’s wedding, and Ganga and her mum also wore Kanakavalli. Ganga also picked a pink Kanakavalli kanjivaram for her engagement.

For the wedding, Ganga wanted a traditional red kanjivaram. The team at the Bengaluru store had prepared a collection of saris that Ganga had liked and were extraordinarily patient with the bride-to-be. Ganga says she loved the personal touch that Kanakavalli added to her wedding shopping, making the journey so much more special.
