This sari is from Kanakavalli’s Reiya collective of kanjivarams that have undergone a series of hand processes to soften and age the drape. It is marked by age-muted zari, and a sumptuous bodied but butter soft hand feel.
This regal kanjivaram sari in dark brown shot with black is handwoven with checks enclosing peacock and chakaram motifs in gold zari on the body. The borders have peacock, diamond, floral and geometric patterns in gold zari. The pallu features twill, peacock, chakaram, stylised leaf and geometric motifs all in gold zari.
