Kanakavalli Kanjivaram Silk Sari 040-01-92087
The sari is woven on a four-pedal loom, unlike the traditional two pedals, in the ettu kol set up by a master weaver. The entire kanjivaram is woven in mango yellow, with a twill pattern in burnt orange overlaid onto the body. The base fabric colour is visible on the borders and pallu. Delicate gold mayil kann motifs are woven on the body, while the pallu is embellished with vanki (chevron), thuthiripoo and moggu patterns, all in gold zari with hints of green.
The unique feature of this sari is that the twill pattern is not visible on the reverse side of the sari, while the inverse mayil kann motifs are. The stunning pallu features a classic thazhampoo reku design, as well as rows of elephants and horse motifs in fine gold zari.
This sari uses a fine zari with a 90% silver, and 3-4% gold composition.
