HEALING FOODS: COLOUR COLLECTIVE

Within the kanjivaram drape, you can traverse a world of colour, and you might find yourself immersed in the hues of a South Indian kitchen. Unfolding in a beautiful lexicon, the kanjivaram’s colours are rich in local flavour, indigenous and evocative—from the golden orange of kesari (saffron), to the delicious, deep yellow of mambazham (mango) and the vibrant glow of milagai pazham (chilli red).

This season, we return to the wisdom of our grandmothers and their traditional homemade remedies that boost immunity and restore well-being. Inspired by the incredible simplicity and effectiveness of India's healing foods, Kanakavalli draws on the kanjivaram’s colours to pick local ingredients for a series of recipes. We bring the colours of these miracle ingredients to life in a curation of exquisite silk saris.

Find the recipes on our Varna Sutra blog, and explore the collection of exquisite silk saris right here.
